Top polo player Facundo Pieres takes on F1 champion Fernando Alonso in a 1930s Bugatti!
The double world champion of Formula 1 Fernando Alonso drove a 1930s Bugatti to compete against the Argentine polo player Facundo Pieres riding a polo horse to try to defeat the car in an unprecedented race. As part of a promotional event for the champagne brand Chandon and the McLaren-Honda team , in which the two-time Asturian world champion runs, both athletes met on a 140-meter straight at the Owners Club circuit, (a private club for collectors of classic cars) in the General Rodríguez of Buenos Aires.
Alonso, who traveled to Argentina for this unprecedented challenge before traveling to Brazil, for the penultimate round of the World Championship, considered this was one of the funniest tests he had ever faced.
